It’s fair to say that I’ve been attracted to challenges my entire professional life. From the start, I’ve worked exclusively with self-made successes whose climb to the top has followed unconventional paths. The more tireless they were in their pursuits, the more tireless I became in helping them reach their goals.

If M+ was built on tenacity, it’s grown on trust. Even at my most driven, I’m aware that blazing a trail is meaningless if no one is there to follow. I’m proud that both my relentlessness and my integrity have shaped my success.

The ambition I pour into my professional pursuits is reflected in my personal pursuits as well: My wife and I have made it our mission to see the whole world before we start a family. In between our travels, we call Long Island City home.

Starting my career in financial services, I’d heard that “becoming a life insurance agent is one of the noblest professions, second only to being clergy.” As the only child of two clergy members, I understood at a very young age the power of helping others. And while that exposure made it clear that my own life’s work should be an influence for good, I knew the clerical path wasn’t for me.

Whether my initial pursuit of financial services was inspired by power of suggestion or something else, it cemented itself as the only career for me as I helped my own family settle the affairs of a loved one. The impact of that process never faded. I have since helped hundreds of other families and individuals prepare for the future, obtaining additional licenses and designations along the way to deepen the level of service I can provide.

At work and in life, I believe in the philosophy of getting comfortable with being uncomfortable. Professionally, this means constantly challenging myself to learn and do more. Personally, it’s a perfect way to describe my golf game. When I’m not swinging on the course, I can be found trying new restaurants with my wife or shooting hoops with my dog at my side.

I learned early on that while ability can bring you to the table, only patience and hustle can keep you there. That’s exactly how I discovered my love for our industry, fresh out of school with no experience to speak of, but eager to make a good impression on a relative who gave me a chance.

It’s this belief that inspired my motto—we’re all in this together—which has helped me find my voice as much as it has let me empower others to use their own. It’s given me the humility to hold myself out as a student first, accepting lessons from my many mentors that sometimes didn’t bear fruit until much later.

The openness it takes to play the long game has been a gift professionally and personally. At M+, it’s at the center of my executive leadership, for the benefit of our team and our clients. Outside of work, it keeps my perspective on what matters most: my two beautiful daughters, who remind me every day how amazing life is.

The expression “it’s a dog’s life” applies perfectly to me.

Although I’m only four years old, I’ve already traveled to twelve countries with my family. I use my best manners to make sure I live up to my title wherever I go, making people smile from Mexico to Italy.

When I’m not charming the world, I’m providing happiness right here in my hometown of Long Island City. I enjoy long walks around our neighborhood, fun at the dog park, and cuddling up with my parents, Mom and Dad.
